11/2025
Special “Youth Traffic Safety” prize at the Innovation Award of the German Mobility Industry.
The Innovation Award of the German Mobility Industry from the Deutsche Verkehrswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (DVWG) e.V. recognizes outstanding achievements and accomplishments in the mobility and logistics industry. The special prize for our digital school route planner schulwege.de was presented to us in Frankfurt’s Paulskirche by laudator Kurt Bodewig, former Federal Minister of Transport, among others.

1st place in the “On the road – but safe!” competition organized by VDSI and DVR.
Every two years, the German Road Safety Council and the Association for Safety, Health and Environmental Protection at Work award prizes for the best ideas that improve road safety at work. First place went to our drivometer app, which we developed together with the VBG (German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the administrative sector) to improve cycling safety on the way to work.

Nominated for the “German Road and Traffic Engineering Award” in the Innovation/Digitalization category.
Every two years, the Federal Association of Road Construction and Traffic Engineers (Bundesvereinigung der Straßenbau- und Verkehrsingenieure e.V.) honours particularly future-oriented and pioneering engineering achievements in the categories of building culture, innovation/digitalization and new mobility. Our approach “A holistic approach to road safety – a data and AI-supported approach to risk assessment and development of measures” was nominated in cooperation with mobaix GmbH.

Seal of the DIGITAL Award 2024 for the city of Waldkraiburg for our digital, interactive school route planner.
The DIGITAL Award recognizes digital excellence in administration. The seal was awarded to the town of Waldkraiburg, which uses the portal to help parents and pupils find a safe route to school.

Special “Jacques Barrot” prize for outstanding road safety initiative, awarded by the European Commission.
The prize was named after the French politician Jacques Barrot, who was EU Commissioner for Transport from 2004 to 2010.

“Excellence in Road Safety Award” in the category “Technology – best application of technology for road safety”, presented by the European Commission.
The awards, which are presented annually by the European Road Safety Charter under the direction of the
European Commission, are intended to recognize the success of exemplary
initiatives on the road to improved road safety throughout Europe
. The award went to the FeGiS+ project (early detection of danger spots in road traffic using smart data), which combines hazard reports from citizens with numerous data from other sources, e.g. police accident data, on the gefahrenstellen.de portal and thus provides a nationwide map of danger spots.
